PM Modi exchanged gifts with First Lady, US President Joe Biden

PM Modi US Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted a handcrafted sandalwood bow with 'das danam' and a lab-grown green diamond to US President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr Jill Biden. PM Modi, who is on his first state visit to the US exchanged gifts during an intimate dinner hosted by Joe Biden and Jill Biden at the White House.

As per the updates, the box contains an idol of Lord Ganesha and a Diya (oil lamp), handcrafted by a family of fifth-generation silversmiths from Kolkata. It includes a copper plate also called tamper-Patra, delicately handcrafted silver coconut, a fragrant piece of sandalwood, Til or white sesame seeds, a 24K pure and hallmarked gold coin, ghee or clarified butter, a handwoven textured tussar silk cloth, long-grained rice, jaggery, 99.5 per cent pure and hallmarked silver coin and lavan or salt.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also gifted a 7.5-carat lab-grown diamond to First Lady Jill along with a Papier mache box, known as kar-e-kalamdani - in which the Green diamond is placed.
