Former Indian cricketer Yashpal Sharma passed away at the age of 66 due to a massive cardiac arrest.
Yashpal was a member of the 1983 World Cup winning team led by Kapil Dev. He represented India in 37 Tests and 42 ODIs.
in ODIs, the egendary player added 883 runs for India in 42 matches at an average of 28.48. He played a total of 4 fifties in this format.
He made his Test debut against England in the year 1979. In this match, he scored a total of 16 runs in both the innings. At the same time, in 1983, he came on the field to play his first match in ODIs against West Indies.
Yashpal scored runs for India in Test cricket at an average of 33.46. He has 1606 runs to his name in this format including 2 centuries and 9 fifties, while his highest score was 140 runs.
