World T20 2016: Meet the top performers of the mega tournament

New Delhi: The World T20 2016 has turned out to be the biggest ICC event in the history of cricket as it reached over 2 billion people. Labelled as one of the most entertaining cricket tournaments, the World Cup was this time hosted by India. Here is an overview of the top scorers of the tournament.

Tamim Iqbal: Bangladesh’s left-handed opener tops the list of top scorers in the ICC World T20 Championship 2016. Playing in his sixth World Cup, Tamim scored 295 runs in 6 matches with an average of 73.75. He smashed an unbeaten 103 runs from just 63 balls in a qualifying match against Oman.

Jos Buttler: England’s wicket-keeper Jos Buttler scored 191 runs in 6 matches and is on the fifth spot in the list of highest run scorer in World T20. Top wicket taking players.

Mohammad Nabi: The off-break bowler from Afghanistan tops the list of those having bagged maximum wickets in the ICC World T20. Mohammad Nabi has taken 12 wickets in seven matches with the best bowling figures of 4 for 20 against Hong Kong.

Rashid Khan: With 11 wickets in 7 matches, Afghanistan’s leg break bowler Rashid Khan stands at second position in the list of maximum wickets takers in the T20 World Cup. The 17-year-old cricketer played his first ICC World T20.

Ish Sodhi: England’s right-arm leg spinner, grabbed 10 wickets in 5 matches with an average of just 12.00. His best bowling figures were 318 against New Zealand.
