The much-needed finishing kick was provided to team India by Suryakumar Yadav. He made sure to stay in the middle till the end but got out in the 47th over of the innings. Nevertheless, Surya scored a vital 49 off 47 balls with 4 fours and a six to his name. Thanks to his efforts, India managed to post a fighting total of 229 runs in their 50 overs for the loss of nine wickets.

England would've backed themselves to chase down 230 runs. But India's pacer Jasprit Bumrah derailed their chase upfront with wickets of Dawid Malan and Joe Root off consecutive deliveries in the 5th over. England never recovered from these early blows.
