U-19 World Cup 2022: From Sehwag to Kohli, Indian players who became superstars after U-19 World Cup

Indian Test team captain Virat Kohli was the captain of the India's U-19 team that won the 2008 World Cup.  

Under the leadership of Mohammad Kaif, India won their first-ever U19 World Cup in 2000. Kaif went on to become one of the best fielders in the Indian cricket team. 

Former India batsman Virendra Sehwag was the part of India's U19 team in 1998. The swashbuckling opening batsman still holds the record of scoring the most runs by an Indian in an innings of a Test match.

Along with Kaif and Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh was also a part of India's U-19 team in the 1998 World Cup. The legendary off-spinner became the first bowler from India to take a hat-trick in Test cricket. 

Yuvraj Singh is one of the biggest match-winner that came from U19 cricut. Yuvraj was the Man of the Series in the 2011 World Cup. 

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan was part of India's U-19 team in the 2002 World Cup. Irfan is regarded as one of the finest all-rounders that the country has ever produced. 

India's opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan played in the 2004 U19 World Cup. The southpaw won the Man of the Series award in the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. 

Along with Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina played the 2004 U19 World Cup for India. Raina made his debut in ODI cricket in 2005 and went on to play   226 ODIs for the country. 

India ODI and T20 captain Rohit Sharma played the 2006 U19 World Cup. Rohit made his international debut in 2007 and went on to became one of the best opening batsmen of all-time. 

Ravindra Jadeja was the part of Indian team that won the 2008 U19 World Cup. Jadeja is regarded as one of the best fielder around the world. 

In 2008 Virat Kohli's team won the ICC U19 World Cup. Virat became the backbone of the Indian cricket team in the next decade. 

India opening batsman KL Rahul played the 2010 U19 World Cup. KL was the captain of Punjab Kings for last two IPL season. 

Along with Samson, Shreyas Iyer was also part of the Indian team in the 2014 U19 World Cup. Iyer became the captain of the Delhi Capitals in 2018. 

India's wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson was the vice-captain of the Indian team in the U19 World Cup 2014. The talisman is the captain of Rajasthan Royals in IPL and has played 121 matches in the cash-rich league. 

Wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan played a vital role in India's triumph in the 2016 U19 World Cup 2021. The left-hand batsman is now a vital clog in India's T20 side. 

Under the captaincy of Prithvi Shaw India won the 2016 U19 World Cup. Shaw scored a century in his debut Test against West Indies in 2018.

Explosive wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was part of India's U19 team in the 2016 World Cup. Pant is now India's regular gloveman in Test cricket.
