Star studded opening of IPL-9

Indian Premier League 2016 is now officially on. Many celebrities performed in the opening ceremony and ended it with all glitz and glamour. This was a special moment when all 8 IPL captains took selfie before tournament briefing.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit placed the trophy back on the podium and IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla and BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur joined the skippers on stage.

IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla welcomed all the audience for the ninth edition of the competition.

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli signs the MCC pledge. Just like him all the other captains also signed the MCC pledge.

India's star rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh entertained the crowd by singing his favourite songs like "Mai Tere Laila O Mere Laila", "Dum Dum Bum Bum", "Love Dose", "Chaar Botal Vodka".

Actor Ranveer Singh was a showstopper . He danced to his favourite numbers like "Tattad Tattad Ramji Ki Chaal", "Tune Mari Entry", and "Malhari" and then the much-awaited performance by musical group Major Lazer.

American singer Chris Brown also performed in the opening ceremony of IPL 9. Katrina Kaif danced with Ranveer Singh and Dwayne Bravo.

Jacqueline and Katrina gave a smashing dance performance with Dwayne Bravo.

Bollywood actress and Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez also danced to the tunes of some famous numbers.

American singer Chris Brown, sang his heart out to make the evening a memorable one for the large number of fans and crowd gathered at the venue and seeing it from elsewhere.

West Indies star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo also danced and sang with the India's singing sensation Ankit Tiwari.

Preity Zinta owner of Kings XI Punjab was also present during the opening ceremony.
