In the opening game of the 2018-19 BGT in Australia, Virat Kohli was dismissed by Pat Cummins on just 3 runs in the first innings. Kohli also failed in the second innings after a promising start as he scored 34 runs off 104 balls.

In the second match in Perth, Virat Kohli top-scored with 123 runs but India fell to just 283 in the first innings. Kohli added just 17 runs as Indian batting collapsed in the second innings, conceding a huge 146-run defeat.

At Melbourne Cricket Ground, India made a strong comeback with Virat Kohli scoring crucial 82 runs off 204 balls in the first innings. However, the Indian captain was dismissed on a four-ball duck in the second innings by Cummins but India registered a big 137-run win.

In the last match of the 2018-19 BGT, Virat Kohli scored just 23 runs off 59 balls but India posted a huge total of 622 in the first innings at Sydney Cricket Ground to draw the game and clinch the maiden BGT series win in Australia.
