  • New Zealand, on the other hand, would be disappointed with their efforts as they let Australia off the hook after having them four down for less than 100 runs. But more than that, their batters disappointed a lot folding for 179 runs only and conceding a lot of 204 runs.

  • Matt Henry was the best bowler for them in the first innings picking up a sensational five-wicket haul for just 70 runs. Henry was one of the reasons why Australia struggled on the opening day. But it took a lot of time for the pacer to pick his fifth wicket on the second day but when he did, it was worth the wait as he roared in celebration.

  • Australia were simply superb with the ball as they never let New Zealand off the hook after picking early wickets. Nathan Lyon cleaned up the tail picking up four wickets as he found some turn as well. The visitors will now be looking to bat New Zealand out of the game making sure they seal the game soon.
