Marcus Stoinis was the hero of the night as he guided DC to a thrilling win on Sunday. Kings XI Punjab made a strong start to the game, as Shami removed Shaw and Hetmyer early in the innings. Rishabh Pant (31) and Shreyas Iyer (39) then stabilised the DC innings. After DC were 96/6 in 16.1 overs, the one-man show began as Marcus Stoinis slammed 53 off just 21 balls, steering the side to 157/8 in 20 overs. After a decent start, KL Rahul's dismissal on 14 kickstarted a flurry of wickets for the KXIP. After Ashwin took two wickets in an over before going off injured, Axar Patel bowled a remarkable spell of 1/14 in four overs. Mayank Agarwal led the fight for KXIP, however, as he scored 89 off 60 balls but was dismissed by Stoinis when KXIP needed only one run to win. Stoinis eventually dismissed Chris Jordan on the final ball of the match, forcing the match to a Super Over. Kagiso Rabada weaved magic as he conceded only two runs and dismissed Rahul and Pooran, before Pant hit the winning runs.
