India beat New Zealand by six wickets to go 1-0 up in the five-match series. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul slammed half-centuries to star in India’s comfortable chase of 204. Skipper Virat Kohli also chipped in with handy 45. Earlier, Colin Munro, Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson slammed respective fifties as New Zealand ended their innings at 203/5. Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja picked one wicket each while Mohammed Shami went wicketless.

KL Rahul smashed an unbeaten 50 off 50 balls and Shreyas Iyer scored an equally important 44 off 33 balls as India beat New Zealand by 7 wickets at Auckland to go 2-0 up in the five-match series. India are now favourites to win their first-ever T20I series in New Zealand. Earlier, Ravindra Jadeja struck twice while Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur and Shivam Dube took one each for India as India restricted New Zealand to 132/5 in 20 overs during the second T20I encounter in Auckland. Martin Guptill was the top-scorer for the hosts with 33.

Rohit Sharma hit two sixes off Tim Southee’s last two balls in the Super Over to seal a dramatic win for India in the 3rd T20I against New Zealand at Seddon Park in Hamilton. The win also gave India their maiden T20I series win New Zealand. India needed 18 runs to the Super Over after Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill took 17 runs from Jasprit Bumrah’s Super Over. Rohit and Rahul struggled against Southee in the first half of the over but the India vice captain two sixes when 10 runs were needed off the last 2 balls.

Virat Kohli kept his calm to finish the match in Super Over as India became the first side to win successive T20Is via the one over eliminator. Jasprit Bumrah bowled the Super Over for India, gave away 13 runs and in reply KL Rahul hit a six and a four to give India a great start before getting out. Shardul Thakur bowled a brilliant last over in which India got 4 wickets - 2 via run out - to stretch the match into another Super Over. Colin Munro and Tim Seifert struck impressive fifties but India hung in their and Saini, Bumrah and Thakur bowled three brilliant overs to hold New Zealand on level terms.

New Zealand lost three early wickets in the powerplay and they were gasping for breath when Ross Taylor and Tim Seifert got together to put on a stunning partnership for the fourth wicket. They plundered 34 runs off a Shivam Dube over and looked to be in command. Seifert departed after a sparkling 50 and then the collapse started. From 116/3 they were reduced to 156 for 9 and eventually fell 7 runs short. The Indian bowlers were brilliant in the second phase of the innings and bagged a historic 5-0 series whitewash. Jasprit Bumrah led this charge and ended with the man of the match award.
