Anurag Thakur, Manoj Sinha declare third edition of Khelo India Winter Games open

The third Khelo India National Winter Games were declared open at Gulmarg on Friday in presence of Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, I&B, Anurag Thakur and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Games.

The government has approved 40 Khelo India centres For Jammu and Kashmir, where previous players would have the opportunity to coach new players. Khelo India Youth Games have been instrumental in the addition of many athletes breaking out on the international stage and now it is time for the Winter Games to do the same and raise the flag of India in the Winter Olympics.

The sports event is being organised after the successful conduct of first two editions. It is establishd to celebrate & honour sporting excellence and witness the contests of skill and endurance of athletes.

"It is a great occasion to strive for the greatest victory, to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship, peace, equality, friendship & respect for the competitors. The spirit of oneness, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat will make us stronger.
