Sheila Dikshit former CM of Delhi passes away
Sheila Dikshit was born on March 31, 1938, in Kapurthala, Punjab, into a Punjabi Khatri family.
Sheila Dikshit became the chief minister of Delhi thrice, that is from 1998-2013
In 2010, Delhi hosted the Commonwealth Games in which Sheila Dikshit changed the infrastructure of the capital city.
In August 2013, Arvind Kejriwal defeated Sheila Dikshit and became the Cheif Minister of Delhi.
She became the governor of Kerela on 4 March 2014 and resigned on 26 August 2014.
She had a great bond with the Gandhi family and Congress party.
She passed away on Saturday afternoon in the Fortis Hospital due to cardiac arrest.
