Madhubala: An Enchantress of Bollywood!

She was the sole breadwinner for a family of seven with five sisters.

Her father kept a strict hold onto her career and worked as her manager.

As she started working at an very early age, she had no chance of attending school.

Though she knew urdu and could speak Pashtu, but till the day she died she could never speak a single word in English.

She had such translucent and fair complexion, that you could easily see the color of 'Paan' going down her throat.

She was highly prone to laughing. For instance a close source recollects that during a scene in movie, 'Amar', actress Nimmi had a dance sequence before Dilip Kumar and Madhubala. And as Nimmi peformed wrong steps, Madhubala went into huge gagle of laughter.

She also had a passion for driving and hence at the age of 12, she learnt this as her passion for speed and wheels.

She was also passionate about her pets, in 1959, Madhubala's house was full of dogs. At that time there were 18 of them.

Her real name was Mumtaz Jehan Begum Dehlavi, born to a pathn family in Delhi on February 14, 1933 to a Pathan family.

She soon complicated her life and career because of her excessive and unquestioning obedience to her father.

She is the only actress who worked in 66 films as lead actress.

Madhubala's opportunities for forming close friendships were few. Due to the strict regimen she was made to follow by her father, her only exposure to her colleagues was in the studios

Madhubala as second wife of Actor singer Kishore Kumar. She was married to him until her death.
