Prince William, Kate Middleton explore their 'Desi' side on Day 1 in India

The special guests, Prince William and Kate Middleton began their weeklong visit to India and Bhutan by laying a wreath at a memorial at Mumbai’s iconic Taj Mahal Palace hotel. The duo paid homage to the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks here.

Prince William and his Princess offered flowers during their visit at the 900-year-old Banganga Tank at the Malabar Hill, constructed in 1127 by the Silhara dynasty rulers of the then Thane kingdom.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a charity program at Oval Maidan in Mumbai. They were greeted by women of the local community and volunteers of the Smile Foundation with garlands and flowers, after which the couple showered petals in the holy reservoir.

Prince William and Kate were pleased to watch a special dance perfomance of representative from SMILE organisation at Banganga area.

Britain's Prince William, played soccer as his wife Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, watched him during their visit to a slum in Mumbai.

The royal couple was flanked by Cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Dilip Vengsarkar during the charity event. They even tried their hand at the game.

Sachin Tendulkar was overjoyed on meeting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. He said, "It was a fantastic experience to meet the Duke and the Duchess and they are a remarkable couple. They made us feel so comfortable and they are really humble, very simple and the noble causes that they are supporting all over the world shows what a kind heart they have."

Prince William and Princess Catherine arrived for a royal dinner at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai. The event was a star studded affair.

Bollywood biggies Anil Kapoor, Karan Johar and Farhan Akhtar greeted the royal couple during the charity ball.

Bollywood's king Shah Rukh Khan along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan welcomed Prince William and Kate Middleton to the Bollywood theme dinner party.
