Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj was covered in thick fog as a cold wave gripped the city on January 06. Several North Indian states experienced similar weather, with dense fog and cold conditions.

Most parts of Kashmir, including Srinagar, received a fresh spell of snowfall on Monday as the mercury stayed close to the freezing point. Snowfall was witnessed in several areas of Bandipora, Baramulla and Kupwara districts in north Kashmir.

Dense to very dense fog was also recorded at some places in Rajasthan on Monday morning. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center, the minimum temperature in the state was recorded between 6.9 degree Celsius (Vanasthali) and 11.4 degree Celsius (Kota).

Several cities across Uttar Pradesh, including the state capital are experiencing a drop in daytime temperatures due to overcast skies and moderate to dense fog. Premium trains like Tejas Express (82501) were delayed by almost 2-3 hours due to dense fog.
