Wendell Rodricks' Fashion Journey: His Best Works and Accomplishments (In Pics)

Renowned fashion designer Wendell Rodricks died at his residence in Colvale village in Goa on Wednesday at the age of 59. 

Born on 28 May 1960,  Wendell Rodricks grew up in a Goan Catholic family.

Wendell Rodricks was known for creating designs that brought together the traditional with the relaxed Goan vibe.

Wendell Rodricks was honoured with one of the highest civilian award, the Padma Shri, back in 2014 by the government of India.

Wendell Rodricks was also accorded the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts Et Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture in 2015. 

 He was a published writer with books such as "Moda Goa - History and Style", his memoir "The Green Room" and "Poskem: Goans in the Shadows".

As a designer, he has been credited with reviving the Kunbi saree, worm by the indigenous Kunbi tribal women of Goa.

He was also passionate about setting up Moda Goa Museum, which is dedicated to the history of Goan costumes. He was overseeing the ongoing work.

A well-known gay activist,  Wendell Rodricks was married to Jerome Marrel.

Today, the fashion world has lost a gem. Rest in Peace Wendell Rodricks.
