Netherlands: This country brings the New Year by taking a dip in the sea early in the morning. You can see the city of Amsterdam to be extremely vibrant on New Year. People gather at Scheveningen Beach to take a dip and it is believed that doing so can bring good luck.

Spain: New Year is celebrated in Madrid City or in the Canary Islands. The New Year tradition includes eating 12 grapes. At the stroke of midnight, people eat 12 grapes named after the 12 months. It is believed that doing so can bring good luck. After eating the grapes, people take part in dancing and singing.

Cambodia: In Cambodia, people light incense sticks and dhoop in temples on New Year. People pray to Lord Buddha for good luck in the New Year. Also, on the second day of the year, people perform puja for their ancestors. On the third day, people wash the feet of the elders of the house and Lord Buddha.

America: America rings in New Year with celebrations at the Times Square. People from all across the globe take part in the New Year countdown. On this occasion, people gather at Times Square and everyone's eyes are on the tall flag pole. A ball falls down from here which is considered a symbol of countdown.

Japan–Korea: Japan and Korea celebrate the New Year with great fervour. People ring bells 108 times to bring in the New Year. It is considered to be extremely auspicious and is believed to bring good luck for the New Year.
