People across the globe welcomed New Year 2025 with celebrations that were nothing short of spectacular. Different countries across the globe brought in the New Year at different times due to the difference in time zones. The first nation in the world to celebrate the New Year was a small island, Kiribati in the Pacific Ocean. This country celebrated its New Year on December 31 at 01:30 PM (IST). On the other hand, the countries that will be the last to celebrate their New Year are Baker Island and Howland Island in the Pacific Ocean. When these two islands celebrate New Year, it will be 05:30 PM on January 1 in India. Here, take a look at how different countries across the world celebrated the New Year.

India: People across the country rang in the New Year with a lot of joy and fervour Cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and others saw people attending events, live performances and more.

New Zealand: There were stunning fireworks at display at Auckland's iconic Sky Tower. People gathered at the waterfront, singing and celebrating the beginning of the New Year.

Australia: Sydney saw nine tonnes of fireworks being sprayed from the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Millions of people gathered to witness the celebrations.

Thailand: People in Bangkok attended live music events and fireworks shows to bring in the New Year. Also, 800 drones were used for a fireworks display in Jakarta.

UAE: The iconic fireworks celebration at Burj Khalifa took place and thousands of people attended the event. Also, people enjoyed a 53-minute nonstop fireworks at the Sheikh Zayed Festival as a whopping 6,000 drones covered the sky.
