Sanju, Gold, Satyameva Jayate: Top 5 highest opening films of 2018

August has been, so far, a great month in terms of Bollywood films. This Independence Day, two films clashed at the box office and to our surprise, both established new records for themselves. Gold and Satyameva Jayate, despite the clash, became the highest opening films for the respective actors. Film and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared a list of top 5 highest opening films of 2018. Let's have a look. 

Sanjay Dutt's biopic stands tall in the list of top 5 highest opening films of 2018. On its day 1, the film minted Rs 34.75 crores at the box office. 

Salman Khan's Race 3, despite the tepid reviews, managed to remain on the second spot on this list. It raked in Rs. 27.5 crores on its day 1. 

Akshay Kumar's Gold is not much behind Salman Khan's Race 3. It earned Rs  27 crores at the box office becoming the highest opening film for Akshay Kumar. 

The sequel of Tiger Shroff-starrer Baaghi was an immense success at the box office. It opened to the amazing numbers of Rs 25 crores at the box office. 

John Abraham is making most of this year. First, his Parmanu fared well at the box office, and now Satyameva Jayate is also enthralling the audience. The cop drama has raked in Rs 18 crores on its day 1.
