Rohit Suresh Saraf was born on December 8, 1996 in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is said to have been raised in Delhi and moved to Mumbai to pursue modelling. Saraf has studied at St. Francis D'Assisi High School. According to a report, his net worth is estimated to be USD 3 million. In an interview, Rohit Saraf revealed that moving from Nepal to Delhi was not a big change. He also revealed that he was never professionally trained as an actor and believes in enhancing his expertise by working with the best people in the industry. Rohit Saraf also revealed that he dreamt of becoming an actor at the age of 15.

Saraf marked his acting debut with Channel V's popular show Best Friends Forever in 2012. He later appeared in small roles in Ek Boond Ishq (2013) and MTV Big F (2015). He made his Bollywood debut in 2016 with Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dear Zindagi. He played the role of the actress' younger brother. He appeared in films like Dear Maya (2017), The Sky Is Pink (2019), Ludo (2020), Vikram Vedha (2022), Woh Bhi Din The (2022) and others.

Saraf also appeared in a Norwegian film titled What Will People Say in 2017. The Iram Haq-directed film was the official Norwegian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards in 2019. Additionally, he made his Tamil film debut in 2021 with the film Kamili From Nadukkavery. He successfully won many hearts with his charming screen presence in the 2024 film Ishq Vishk Rebound.

His big break as a lead came with his most popular project on OTT, Mismatched on Netflix. Starring Prajakta Koli, this refreshing teen drama follows the complicated relationship of Rishi (Saraf) and Dimple (Kohli) who enrol in a technical course together. The much-awaited third season of the drama will be released on Netflix on December 13, 2024.
