Ranbir Kapoor to Sonam Kapoor: Star kids who started off as assistant directors

Ranbir Kapoor worked as an assistant director on films such as Prem Ganth and Aa ab laut chalein. On the other hand, Sonam Kapoor assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his film Black and Ranbir also assisted her. The two then made their acting debut with Saawariya in 2007. 

Varun Dhawan worked as an assistant director on Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan before making his acting debut in Student Of The Year.

Ishaan Khatter assisted on Shahid Kapoor starrer, Udta Punjab. He later debuted with Majid Majid’s film Beyond The Clouds.

Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor began his career as an AD for Bombay Velvet before making his Bollywood debut with the film Mirzya.

Shanaya Kapoor, who is slated to make her Bollywood debut with Bedhadak, worked as an assistant director on Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.

Sooraj Pancholi began his career as an assistant director on Hrithik Roshan's Guzarish before making his feature film debut with Hero in 2015.
