Raid to Stree, 10 Bollywood films of 2018 which were proud entrants of Rs 100 crore club

2018 was a great year for Hindi film industry. This year proved that the real winner of any film is its script, not stars. It is not that all the good films minted over Rs 100 crore, however, some content-driven films did make a smashing entry into the coveted club. Let's have a look at the films which became proud members of Rs 100 crore club.

Sonu Ke Titu Ke Sweety left everyone in surprise with its box office collection. Starring Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh in lead roles, the film directed by Luv Ranjan was loved by youngsters. The movie made Kartik Aaryan a star overnight. It was 2018's second 100 crore film after Padmaavat.

Raid directed by Raj Kumar Gupta was praised by critics and audience alike for its screenplay and performances of actors. Starring Ajay Devgn and Saurabh Shukla in lead roles, the movie maintained its steady run over weeks and entered 100 crore club.

Raazi directed by Meghna Gulzar had Alia Bhatt in lead role. The film also had Vicky Kaushal but only in supporting character. Raazi is one such movie which evokes nationalism without chest-thumping patriotism. It earned Rs 120 crore.

Thugs of Hindostan is a flop but it managed to earn over Rs 150 crore with first day business of Rs 52 crore. The movie starring Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh drew flak because of its script.

Race 3 directed by Remo D'Souza had an ensemble star cast of Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Saqib Saleem and Daisy Shah. Despite being panned by critics, it earned over Rs 166 crore.

Sanju showed terrific performance at the box office and set the cash registers ringing by minting Rs 334 crore. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film traced Sanjay Dutt's tumultuous years. It gave the much-needed hit to Ranbir Kapoor.

Stree directed by debutant Amar Kaushik had Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi in lead roles. The horror comedy was praised by critics and audience alike. It minted Rs 124 crore at the box office.

Baaghi 2 was the second instalment of the hit franchise Baaghi. The action drama directed by Ahmed Khan had Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani in the lead roles. It crossed Rs 100 crore mark in just six days.

Padmaavat was the most controversial movie of the year starring Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. The film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali collected over Rs 282 crore.

Badhaai Ho starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Surekha Sikri, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Sanya Malhotra in key roles is one of the surprise hits of 2018. The story revolves around pregnancy of a middle-aged couple and the ''weird discomfort'' that the situation triggers.
