New Delhi: From drawing inspiration from mythological characters like Radha and Sita as well as from the enigmatic elegance of iconic royal Indian women, young and creative designers rolled out a melange of styles at the Summer-Resort edition of Lakme Fashion Week.
Established designer Rohit Bal, who celebrated his silver jubilee in the fashion industry this year, brought the curtains down on the fashion gala as the grand finale presenter.
The five-day fashion extravaganza had an interesting mix of veterans and new talent as participants — and needless to say, Bollywood presence added to the glamour.

This season, Monisha Jaising collaborated with Magnum Icecream to unveil her Luxe Resort 2016 collection at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer-Resort edition and model-turned-actress Lisa Haydon played a perfect muse for the veteran designer. Lisa brought a vivacious energy to the ramp donning a heavy duty, all-over textured "Rockstar" gown, completely hand embroidered with multiple gold metal elements. Adding movement in the rich gold fringing which bleeds from the texture with strategic star shape cut-outs.

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari displayed a creation of debutant fashion designer Jayanti Reddy at the Lakme Fashion Week SummerResort 2016 fashion show. Wearing a beautiful beige lehenga from Reddy’s collection, Hydari made for a stunning showstopper.

Shraddha Kapoor walked the ramp for celebrity designer Masaba Gupta for the first time at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week SpringSummer 2016. Known for her quirky and catchy prints, the designer incorporated prints of tilak, sliced garlic and chillies drawn from Bremerman’s methods techniques of rendering her art.

With young stars Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez as his muses, ace designer Manish Malhotra raised the curtains on the Lakme Fashion Week, showcasing his beguiling spring summer collection Elements. Malhotra used his ensembles to present the four elements -- earth, water, wind and fire and so, models sashayed down ramp wearing clothes mainly in hues of blue and white. While Roy star Jacqueline Fernandez looked stunning in a shimmery silver evening gown which she wore under a sheer pink cape, Arjun appeared dapper in a dark blue sherwani with a plain silver jacket and a dupatta.

Actor Sidharth Malhotra walked the ramp for designer Kunal Rawal during Lakme Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016. The menswear designer, who is one of the favourites of Bollywood hunks will showcase his collection titled “Between the Lines”, carrying forward his core styles. The collection surfaces inspiration from racer stripes, pin tucks and pleats with fun colour palette including shades of vanilla, oxblood, wine, cobalt, champagne and forest green.

Designer Anita Dongre's show at Lakme Fashion Week SpringSummer 2016 was nothing less than a party with beautiful set up, foot tapping music, star-studded front row and fun loving showstopper Sonakshi Sinha. The designer showcased her collection "Love Notes", inspired by her favourite place Rajasthan. Sonakshi turned out to be her flawless muse in a royal blue skirt teamed up with white jacket choli, featuring designer's signature gotta-patti work.

Ace designer Rohit Bal along with his muse Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan gave an astonishing closure to the Lakme Fashion Week 2016, with his line stunningly portraying the essence of life and existence. This was also the first time the Delhi-based designer was collaborating with Kareena, who is the face of Lakme. The 34-year-old "Ki Ka" actress looked every bit of a diva, dressed in royal blue lehnga choli with golden 'chaand' motif's, as she walked the ramp with historical St.Xavier's College in the backdrop.
