Big B, Jacqueline, Aamir: Celebs who graced the Jio MAMI Film Festival 2016

The eight-day long Jio MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival kicked off on Thursday on a grand note. The event was a much starry affair with several B-town A-listers marking their presence at the event including Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Anurag Kashyap, Aamir Khan, Ambanis etc. MAMI Festival is being hosted by actress Jacqueline Fernandez and was held at the revamped Royal Opera House. Interestingly, Royal Opera House witnessed a grand event after a hiatus of around 23 years. The event was opened with Konkona Sen Sharma's directorial debut ‘A Death in The Gun’. The big movie mela will screen 175 films, including features, documentaries and short films from 54 countries including France, Brazil, the US, Australia, Germany, Russia etc. The Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star will also showcase the first look of the much awaited S.S. Rajamouli's ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ on October 22. Here’s a look at the red carpet pictures of film festival:

Actor Riteish Deshmukh posed with wife Genelia Deshmukh at the event. While Genelia whore a henna green color frock style dress with heavy make-up, Riteish gave an impression that he is still having the hangover of his last release ‘Banjo’.

Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar chose to stay simple for the film festival and wore a grey top with maroon long skirt.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was accompanied with his wife Jaya and he looked suave in his black ‘bandh-gla’ suit.

Aamir Khan, who has got rave reviews for the trailer of his upcoming movie ‘Dangal’, was seen posing with his onscreen daughters Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra on the red carpet.

Actress Kalki Koechlin redefined her classy style with her stunning black dress.

Dia Mirza looked gracious in her floral gown. She completed her look with a bun and chose to go fir minimal jewellery.

Reliance Jio owner Mukesh Ambani posed with his wife Nita and son Anant.

Jacqueline Fernandez, who was the host of the evening, wore an black dress by designer Anamika Khanna. She was styled by Tanya Ghavri and the actress stood true to the words - women who wear black lead colourful lives.
