It was love at first sight for Arbaaz and Malaika. They met for the first time for a bold commercial shoot for coffee brand called ‘Mr. Coffee’. The couple was simply blown by each other’s persona at the very first meeting.

Soon, the couple started dating each other and after a courtship period of around five years, Arbaaz and Malaika entered the nuptial bond. However, Malaika had reportedly confessed that it was she who had proposed the actor and asked for the marriage.

Since Malaika and Arbaaz came from two different cultures, their wedding saw the blend of both. On December 12, 1998, the couple first got married as per the Christian rituals, which was followed by a nikaah in the evening and a lavish reception at night.
