one is required to write a short poetic message named as haiku poem by NASA and submit it online for a DVD message in order to participate in the campaign. This DVD will be carried aboard a spacecraft that will study the Martian upper atmosphere.
Writing the haiku poem will require thought, inspiration and creativity and involves a public contest – because only 3 poems will be selected and sent to Mars. The public will vote for the three winning entries.
Now the campaign has opened public voting on submissions to the message to the contest.
