New Delhi: That the White House is "haunted" has been suggested by several incidents and media reports . Not only the White House, the areas surrounding it have also been considered haunted as many people claim to have witnessed things that defy simple logic, in and around The White House.
A very high number of apparitions of deceased American presidents have been reported from the White House, the most famous of which is Abraham Lincoln, reported even by later presidents such as Harry S. Truman.Apparitions of presidents Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, and John Tyler have all been witnessed as claimed by many people. Evene the spirits of many of the former First Ladies haven been reportedly seen many time.
Many documentaries and books have also been written on the subject dwelling at length how many people experienced it personally in the White House. Dan Brown, the renowned novelist, has mentioned the topic prominently in his 2009 novel, The Lost Symbol.

1. The Lincoln Bedroom: Many spirit reportedly haunts the White House, but the most famous ghost of White House is Abraham Lincon. Lincoln's ghost or his presence had been felt repeatedly throughout the White House. He's the most talked about ghost of the White House.
Lincon's Ghost is said to have haunted the White House since the death of the former US President.
Visitors have reported that lights in the bedroom will turn themselves on and inexplicable cold spots will occur in the room.
The first person reported to have actually seen Lincoln's spirit was First Lady Grace Coolidge, who said she saw the ghost of Lincoln standing at a window in the Yellow Oval Room staring out at the Potomac.
2. The East Room: The East Room is the favorite place for Abigail Adams' ghost. She is often seen in or en route to the East Room with her arms outstretched, as though carrying a laundry basket.
While serving the White House, this was the room in which she would hang her clothes.
Many people reported the faint smell of laundry soap around this area during visits.
Several spirits are said to haunt the Capitol due to tragedies associated with its construction. And it is said to be the most haunted section in the White House.
