New Delhi: Weather conditions in the Andes can be some of the harshest in the world and its hard to expect someone surviving in such weather condition, but a miracle has happened. A 58 year old man, Raul Fernando Gomez Circunegui has lived there for almost 4 months.
It was on last Sunday, when Argentine officials from the north-western province of San Juan arrived in the Andes by helicopter to record snow levels.They stumbled across Mr Gomez after arriving in the area.
He was found in a mountain shelter at an altitude of more than 2,800m by Argentine officials.
He was taken to hospital in an emaciated and dehydrated state, He is reported to have lost 20kg but is expected to make a full recovery.
