New Delhi: It may come as a surprise to many but the most powerful man in the world is actually a devotee of Lord Hanuman.
US President Barack Obama always carries a little statuette of Hindu God Hanuman as he considers the locket his lucky charm.
Obama himself confirmed that the little locket is of Hindu God Hanuman. He said that it was given to him by a woman.
Apparently, this uncanny relation could be traced back to his place of origin.
Last year, Even Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had tweeted that Obama showed the locket to Pratibha Advani, daughter of BJP veteran L K advani.
Obama, whose father was a Kenyan and mother a white woman from Kansas, spent initial days of his life in Indonesia where Hinduism is a popular religion.
Apart from the statuette, Obama also carries with him a bracelet belonging to an American soldier deployed in Iraq, a gambler's lucky chit, and tiny Madonna and child.
He also received a two foot high gold plated idol of Hanuman in June of 2008 from his Indian friends.
