Kabul: Two militants were killed and three civilians got injured early Thursday in an attack on a mosque in Kabul, an official statement said.
"Two terrorists armed with two AK-47 rifles, two pistols, two knives and ammunition entered Imam Hassan-e-Mujtaba mosque in western Kabul. They opened indiscriminate fire on worshippers, injuring three people," Xinhua reported citing a statement from National Security Directorate, country's intelligence agency.
Official sources said the two armed militants, said to be Pakistani nationals who wore police uniform to disguise themselves, were killed by security forces and locals.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Most residents in the area where the attck took place were Shia Muslim, the statement said.
