ANKARA, Turkey: Turkish media reports say Turkish jets have shot down a warplane that violated national airspace at the border with Syria.
The Dogan news agency quoting unnamed military officials said the plane was shot down on Tuesday. The agency said it crashed into Syrian territory close to the border with Turkey.
The agency did not say what nation the plane was from.
A Turkish government official could not confirm the report.
Turkish media reports said the plane's pilots ejected by parachute.
Last month, Turkish jets shot down an unidentified drone that had also violated Turkey's airspace.
