Peshawar, Oct 22: A powerful blast ripped through a mosque packed with Friday worshippers on the outskirts of the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar today, killing at least three people and injuring 20 others.
The incident occurred at the mosque situated in Pishtakharra area when worshippers were offering prayers, 'Dunya News' reported.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain was quoted as saying that three people were killed and 20 others injured in the explosion.
He termed the terror attack as a reaction to the ongoing military offensive against militants in the country's restive northwest.
Police said 1.5 kilogram of explosives were used in the attack, for which no group has so far claimed responsibility. PTI
