Beirut, July 31 :Activists say Syrian tanks and soldiers have entered the central city of Hama and at least three people have been killed.
Hama has seen some of the largest anti-government protests in recent weeks as the uprising against President Bashar Assad's regime gains momentum.
The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and the Local Coordination Committees both confirmed that Syrian tanks entered the city at dawn Sunday. Both said that three people have been killed.
A resident in the city confirmed the assault and casualties. He asked that his name not be used for fear of reprisals.AP
