Bratislava: Slovakia is going to introduce free train travel for students and pensioners from Nov 17, said Jan Pociatek, transportation construction and regional development minister,on Wednesday.
Pociatek said his country would invest approximately 13 million euros (about $16) for this purpose next year, Xinhua reported.
"This is part of a package that we announced would be implemented Nov 17," added Pociatek, adding that fifty percent discounts on rail fares for the working population should follow from Jan 1, 2015.
Pociatek revealed that all details regarding the measures are to be unveiled shortly.
