New Delhi: According to the US Geological Survey, sinkholes are common where the rock below the surface is limestone, carbonate rock, salt beds, or other kinds of rock which can naturally be dissolved by groundwater
A council spokesman told Kent Online: “It is quite common for graves to sink - especially after a period of heavy rain. But none of the staff has seen anything of this scale.”
