Dhaka: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi are scheduled to meet in New York this month during the UN General Assembly (UNGA), media reported on Saturday.
This would be the first meeting between Modi and Hasina after the BJP came to power in May.
Permanent representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations, Abulkalam Abdul Momen, said that the two leaders will meet on September 27.
"Narendra Modi will be the sixth speaker while Sheikh Hasina is the eighth at the General Assembly on September 27. They will meet after their speeches are over," Momen said.
Hasina will arrive in New York on September 22 to attend the 69th UN General Assembly.
