Rome, May 7: Giulio Andreotti, the man who was seven times prime minister of Italy, has died at the age of 94, family sources said.
Andreotti was a leading member of Italy's now defunct Christian Democracy party, which dominated post-war Italy for decades.
He was a lawmaker in every Italian parliament since 1946 and was made a senator-for-life in 1991.
He was accused of being involved in a murder and having mafia ties in the late 1990s, but was later acquitted of both charges.
Andreotti had been ill for some time, Italian media said.
