New Delhi: In a precautionary measure to counter possible spread of Ebola virus, the Saudi Arabia health authorities have decided to ban pilgrims during the Haj season from the deadly virus hit countries.
The Saudi government has stopped issuing visas for the Haj pilgrims coming from the West African nations.
This decision was taken in view of the threat of Ebola virus infection, an official said.
The government has also started training health personnel, including nurses and doctors, to prevent the spread of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome-corona virus, MERS, infection.
The Director of the Ministry of Health in the Makkah region, Dr Abdul Salam Noorwali told that around 3,800 personnel are being trained to deal with corona virus-related cases and preventive measures.
