New Delhi: A restaurant in San Francisco has installed hi-tech facility which offers its customers food without seeking services of any waiter meaning consumers order, pay and receive their food on own.
The restaurant, Eatsa, first of its kind in the country, do not have any counter to place the order, waiters to serve or anyone to take the order. The restaurant is almost fully automated.
How it works
Customers use an iPad at an available table to place their own order. All transactions are done using a credit card.
The system will also attach a name (mentioned on credit card) to each order and create a profile.
Once order is ready, customer will be alerted. The name of customer will be displayed on a monitor and it will correspond the consumer to a cubby where the order will appear. Then the meal will be placed in the semi-transparent box for customer pickup.
The cubbies are fixed behind transparent LCD screens. The respective LCD screen will go black soon after the customer collects the order.
