New Delhi: The most secure computers in the world are completely isolated from other machines—protected by “air gaps,” with no Internet connection, no shared phone lines, nothing.
Conventional wisdom goes that such computers are impossible to hack unless the hacker has direct, physical access to the machine.But this conception has been proved wrong after a recent research.
A recent research by scientists in Wachtberg, Germany with the Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing, and Ergonomics have developed a proof of concept that could allow the bad guys to infect computers and other digital devices via sound waves alone, using a SONAR-like concept that was initially developed to enable underwater communication.
According to a report published in Huffington Post researchers chose to use sounds at a frequency inaudible to human ears .
