Kiev: Hundreds of angry Ukrainians clashed with riot police outside the government building Monday as protests continued in Kiev over the government's abrupt decision to pause integration with the West and tilt toward Moscow.
Demonstrators called for the government's ouster, and some of them clashed with riot police, throwing traffic cones and other objects at officers wearing gas masks and armed with rubber batons.
The opposition said that one protester was injured.
The scuffle follows a protest in the heart of Kiev Sunday that was the biggest since the 2004 Orange Revolution that brought a pro-Western government to power.
