New York: The popular adult website Pornhub has launched a $25,000 scholarship to help students across the globe pay for their school and it has nothing to with explicit material.
In the philanthropic campaign titled “Pornhub Cares”, the popular website is asking applicants to submit an essay of 1,000-1,500 words answering the question, “How do you strive to make others happy?”
Alternatively, one can submit a video (two-five minutes in length) that elaborates on the good work one does and anything else that one might want to say, the website said in a statement.
"Whether you are studying medicine, botany, paranormal psychology or anything in between, application is open to all fields of study so long as you have a GPA of 3.2 or higher,” it read.
According to Corey Price, vice president of Pornhub, adult content is not at all the prerequisite for the scholarship.
"It is definitely not a requirement. The criteria is not to submit the best porn video and get a scholarship. I would be surprised if we had any pornographic entries,” Price told The Daily Beast, a New York-based news website.
Students must submit a resume and official transcript and be enrolled full-time at an “accredited secondary institution”.
"Be currently enrolled full-time in an accredited post-secondary institution. Be (18) years of age or older at the time of application,” the statement read.
"We are looking for standout, compelling examples of students who pay it forward,” it stated. All submissions to the scholarship must reach their office by 31 October.
