Kuala-Lumpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 10th East Asia Summit today on the second day of his visit to Malaysia and will also hold bilateral meetings with top leaders of various countries on the sidelines of the Summit.
The Summit will be making declarations and statements on seven key issues including the security concerns of the Asia-Pacific region, countering violent extremism and enhancement of regional Health Security relating to communicable diseases.
The looming threat of terror and prevailing situation in West Asia is likely to be a part of the discussions.

Prime Minister on Saturday called for enhancing cooperation with ASEAN to tackle the major global challenge of terrorism while addressing the ASEAN Summit.
In what is seen as an attempt to reach out to Malaysia's two million-strong Indian diaspora, Prime Minister will also address a community event today.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi strongly pitched for India as an ideal investment destination while promising reforms "with speed and boldness" along with a transparent and predictable tax regime and protection of intellectual property rights.
Modi arrived in the Malaysian capital early on Saturday to attend two weekend summits and hold several bilateral meetings on the margins of the ASEAN Summit.

The top leaders of all the ten ASEAN member countries and the East Asia Summit members including India, China, Japan, Republic of Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and the USA are taking part in today's summit.
