Karachi, May 16: Pakistani scientist Dr Khalil Chishti, who was imprisoned in India for 20 years, said he was very thankful to Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari and his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh for their efforts in his release.
Talking to media at Islamabad airport the scientist said that he lost hope for his release but thanks to Pakistani government and especially President Zardari who took keen interest in his release.
“I am very thankful to Allah that it has given me a chance to once again see my homeland in my life,” he said.
He further said that he was very excited to meet his family members and relatives whom he has not seen for many years.
