Severed ties between India and Pakistan
Relations between Indian and Pakistan soured after Pathankot terrorist attack in 2016. Prior to that, India went a step ahead to normalise the relations by inviting the then PM Nawaz Sharif in PM Modi's oath-taking ceremony in 2014 and a surprise visit of Indian Prime Minister to Lahore on Christamas day in 2015. The relations further deteriorated after a terrorist attack on Indian paramilitary convoy in Pulwama and subsequent airstrike by the Indian forces.
