Washington, Sep 11: Dr Shakil Afridi, the Pakistani doctor who helped CIA hunt down Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden has said, Pakistan's spy agency ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) is stull supporting militancy and regards the United States as its worst enemy.

In an interview to Fox News from inside Peshawar central jail, where he is being held by Pakistani authorities, Dr Afridi said: "It is now indisputable that militancy in Pakistan is supported by the ISI.  Pakistan's fight against militancy is bogus. It's just to extract money from America."

The Pakistani doctor said he had been brutally tortured by the ISI for helping the US and gave elaborate details of how the ISI was in cahoots with terrorists.

"I tried to argue that America was Pakistan's biggest supporter - billions and billions of dollars in aid, social and military assistance -- but all they said was, 'These are our worst enemies. You helped our enemies.'" Afridi said.

Fox News did not reveal details of how the interview was taken and whether it was conducted in person or over phone.

Fox News correspondent Dominic Di-Natale said in a tweet that details were withheld to ensure "security for those who helped us secure the interview."

He however confirmed speaking directly to Dr Afridi for 40 minutes on Saturday, saying "we have worked on the interview for months out of Peshawar."

The doctor, who had helped the Americans to identify the house Osama bin Laden was hiding in, has been sent to  33 years in jail  by a Pakistani court.
