New Delhi, Sep 24: With the state of Ohio banning offshore outsourcing business recently, the US today sought to allay apprehensions here that the move will have any impact on Indian business, saying that the two nations would "get through this".  "Will that outsourcing issue have an impact on Indian business? I highly doubt it...This happened back in 2005 and it did not impact Infosys or Wipro or the major Indian industries.

We will get through this time too," US Ambassador Timothy J Roemer told reporters here.  He was asked about the protectionist measures taken by some states while India and US have a good relation.  Roemer said that the relationship between India and US is "on the move, constantly improving and growing in very positive manner".  "US President Barack Obama is coming to visit India in November. He is very excited to personally to come here and meet Indian people," he said.  Underlining the strength of the relationship, he said the two countries share most important values, including democracy, respect for human rights and rule of law.

"That rock foundation will get us through  little disagreements that occasionally pop up what recently happened in Ohio," he noted.  Pointing out increasing trade relationship between India and US, he said India has moved from the 25th largest partner to 14th largest trading partner of the US.  "It is the importance of our respect, our values, the growing cooperation between US to counter-terrorism, the regional cooperation between US and India, in countering terrorist groups like LeT and Al-Qaeda..," he said.
