Washington: US President Barack Obama's visit to India in early November would take the bilateral relationship to a new level and demonstrate how the two countries are working together to find solutions to the pressing global challenges, India's envoy here has said.

India is looking forward to the visit of Obama to India in November this year, Indian Ambassador to the US Meera Shankar said in her remarks after signing the agreement on reprocessing of US spent nuclear fuel by India.

"We are confident that the visit would take our relationship to the next level and demonstrate how the two countries are working together to find solutions to the pressing global challenges of the day and for promotion of peace and stability in Asia and beyond", Shankar said.

Bill Burns, the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs signed the agreement on behalf of the US, which marks the final steps in terms of implementation of the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal.

"The signing of this Agreement today, and a few days back, of the Counter-terrorism Cooperation initiative in New Delhi, is also a reflection of our deepening ties," Shankar said."We have had in the last month our first Strategic Dialogue, the meeting of the CEO's Forum, as well as several other high level visits," she said in her remarks.PTI
