Yangon: Myanmar President U Thein Sein on Sunday called on all parties to make a greater than ever cooperation for peace.
He made the remarks on the occasion of the International Day of Peace, Xinhua reported.
He said peace-making efforts are crucial for every citizen and the conflicts in the country are not only affecting those living in the crisis-hit areas, but individuals across the country.
Highlighting the efforts his government has made since taking office, the president called on the parliament, political parties, the army, ethnic groups and civil society to work together to seek peace
He also expressed the belief that a framework for political discussions and dialogue could be drawn soon and a nationwide ceasefire agreement could be signed.
