Rawalpindi: Former Pakistan President Pervez Mushrrarf was shifted to the ICU of CMH Hospital on Sunday evening, after he heard about his mother's condition worsening in a Sharjah hospital, and his exit from Pakistan barred.
Musharraf was to be produced in a special court on Monday to face trial on charge of treason.
Earlier in the day, senior lawyer Sharifuddin Peerzada called on Musharraf to discuss the case. Peerzada is heading the team of lawyers defending the former Pakistani ruler.
Another counsel of Musharraf, Ahmad Raza Kasuri on Sunday said, the chances of Musharraf appearing in the special court on Monday was 50-50.
"If the situation is not handled wisely, a situation of confrontation might arise, which could be harmful to democracy", Kasuri said.
Musharraf's 95-year-old mother Zarin Musharraf is presently in W. W. Wilson Hospital in Sharjah and her condition was stated to be serious.
Musharraf's supporters had been demanding removal of his name from the Exit Control List, so that he could meet his mother on her sick bed.
